From the early days of Bouchier’s contract at Firebag to his current role as General Foreman, Pete Inkster has been a constant source of leadership, dependability, and humour for the Roads and Grounds team. With 11 years under his belt, Pete’s journey is a testament to the power of persistence, teamwork, and staying true to your values.
“I started as a Lead Hand back in 2014 when we kicked off our work at Firebag,” Pete shared. “It’s been exciting and educational ever since. Every day brings a different challenge, but I’m fortunate to work with skilled and considerate coworkers who make even the toughest days worthwhile.”
Pete’s growth at Bouchier has been fueled by a strong support system and continuous development opportunities. “Bouchier has always encouraged me to expand my leadership skills, providing coaching and training along the way,” he said.
In his leadership role, Pete navigates the balance of meeting client expectations while ensuring crew morale stays high and safety remains a top priority. “Conditions aren’t always perfect, but staying positive and keeping a level head is essential. We do what it takes to get the job done safely and effectively.”
For those looking to grow within the company, Pete offers simple but powerful advice: “Stick with the process. Anyone who puts in the time and effort will be rewarded. You can’t teach work ethic—but if you show up with a positive attitude and give an honest effort, opportunities will follow.”
Pete also took a moment to express his gratitude to a few key individuals who’ve played a meaningful role in his journey: Lee Aubertin, for his support, encouragement, and much-needed comedic relief over the years; Jimmy Neuman, for being a professional role model with what Pete describes as “flawless hair”; and Ken Jones, for being a day-one partner through the long and rewarding Firebag journey.
“And to all my Bouchier family,” Pete adds, “please remember that you are all legends. I appreciate our friendships very much.”
Thank you, Pete, for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to the Bouchier team. Here’s to many more years of success at Bouchier!
