Blake Chartrand’s Journey with Bouchier

Blake Chartrand, originally from Fort McMurray, AB, began his career with Bouchier in March 2018, returning in May 2021 as a Labourer at Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Rural Roads contract. His dedication and hard work led to him developing his Equipment Operating skills. Later, Blake felt a connection with Bouchier’s strong safety program, which sparked his interest in pursuing a career in safety.

In August 2023, Blake took a significant step forward by enrolling in the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Program. We supported his growth and provided the necessary resources to complete the practical portions of the certification, such as audits and training hours. Blake’s motivation to expand his knowledge and grow within Bouchier has been truly inspiring.

Throughout his journey, Blake was fortunate to have two amazing mentors: Jessica Sacrey, who has been a constant source of support since his first day at Bouchier, and Mariah-Lynn Tabin, whose belief in him never wavered. Their encouragement—”we believe in you”—has been instrumental in Blake’s success.

“Blake has shown major growth, diligence, and drive since starting his career in HSE.” Says Jessica Sacrey, HSE Lead at Suncor & Incubator Park, “He is a valued member of our team and is an all-around great guy! Welcome aboard Blake, we can’t wait to see what’s next for you! Thanks for always stepping up!”

Blake’s story highlights how Bouchier fosters growth and development, helping employees achieve their career aspirations through support and opportunity.
