Rob Hemsworth’s career is a testament to hard work, persistence, and the power of continuous growth. Before joining Bouchier, Rob began his career as a labourer and later moved into operating equipment at Suncor Mackay River. In 2017, when Bouchier took over the Mackay River contract, Rob was offered the role within our team of Foreman. From there, his leadership skills and dedication quickly set him apart, and he went on to serve as General Foreman at Mackay River for eight years. Earlier this year, in March 2025, Rob embraced a new challenge and was appointed Site Manager at CNRL Horizon R&G’s.

Throughout his journey, Rob has had the support of leaders and mentors who recognized his potential and encouraged his development. From taking part in Bouchier’s first intake of Franklin Covey leadership training, to receiving guidance and mentorship from senior leaders such as Jon Close, Rob is grateful for the investment Bouchier has made in his leadership journey. “I’ve had leaders who truly cared about my growth, mentoring me in all aspects of the business to help me understand what it means to be a leader. I am truly grateful for these mentors and all they have taught me throughout the years,” he shares.

Like many leaders, Rob has faced challenges along the way. But he sees them as opportunities. “Challenges are opportunities to better yourself. Sometimes it may not feel like it in the moment, but it is invaluable experience,” Rob says. By staying positive, seeking help when needed, and not reacting emotionally, he has built resilience and strength as a leader.
When asked what advice he would give to others looking to grow within the company, Rob emphasizes values that resonate across Bouchier:

“Be a positive team member. Contribute to the safety culture. Lead by example. Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Respect and value your co-workers. Take pride in your work and be reliable.”

Rob’s journey reflects the best of Bouchier’s culture; where hard work, mentorship, and opportunity combine to help people grow into strong leaders. Congratulations, Rob, on your well-earned success.
