Evan Billan’s Journey with CNRL Pressure & Vac
Evan Billan, a dedicated member of the CNRL Pressure & Vac team, has seen tremendous growth since joining Bouchier in 2018 as a labourer at the Firebag site. Evan spent six years at Firebag, where he was deeply influenced by the strong safety culture. This environment, combined with the encouragement of the HSE lead on site, inspired Evan to pursue a career in Health & Safety.
In May 2024, Evan completed the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification course, a significant milestone in his career. Bouchier fully supported his professional development, covering his NCSO certification post-completion, assisted Evan in meeting the NCSO audit requirements. Additionally, providing opportunities to move into a safety role with the Pressure & Vac team and ensuring his transition into safety was smooth and successful.
“Evan is a positive contributor to the Bouchier Safety Culture” says Michael Wicks, HSE Lead for CNRL “He has gained the respect of his team through his genuine caring demeaner and safety leadership.”
Evan credits Pete Inkster as a key mentor who provided invaluable guidance and advice throughout his journey. Originally from Red Deer, AB, Evan’s story is a testament to the supportive culture at Bouchier and the opportunities available for growth within the company.
Congratulations, Evan, on your continued success and contributions to safety at CNRL P&V!
